Le Cabanon du Designer ***

This is a designer house built on a hillside, next to a sunny plot full of olive trees, four of them more than a hundred years old.

That’s because of the beauty of the landscape and the panoramic view of the city of Aubenas and its castle that Richard Montoro built the Cabanon du designer.

The architect Frédéric Gidon (MO Atelier Saint-Etienne) designed and brilliantly implemented the building on the hill.

The Location, landscape and architecture are perfect for relaxing or just having a family holiday.

As it is often the case, the uniqueness of its architecture is owed to the constraints of the project.

The triangular shape of the building, that appears to be obvious today, is the result of the terrain.

The simple and efficient use of materials (raw concrete, wood country, bamboo, thick insulation and green roof) makes life comfortable in the different indoor and outdoor spaces.

Description and equipments

Le Cabanon can hold from 4 to 5 people. It has an interior living space of 77m2:

• 1 equipped kitchen (induction hob, oven, refrigerator, dishwashing, microwave)
• 1 living room (with TV),
• 1 bedroom with 1 bed 140cm,
• 1 bedroom with 1 sofa-bed 160cm + 1 extra sofa-bed 80cm,
• 1 bathroom with shower (90x120cm),
• 1 independent WC,
• 1 laundry room with washing machine.

The terrace

The 50 m2 wooden terrace is partially shaded, it is equipped with a shadowed part for meals and a barbecue.

Accommodation Layout

As trappers’ cottages whose walls are filled with trophies, le Cabanon du designer is provided with lighting, furniture and accessories that have marked the history of design.

The selected products are signed by designers Charles and Ray Eames, Achille Castiglioni, Alberto Meda, Michele Delucchi, Denis Santachiara, Richard Sapper, etc. Some furniture and equipment in the Cabanon have also been created and specially designed by Richard Montoro.

The kitchen

The kitchen is equipped with the following devices:

• 1 induction plate, (Hob)
• 1 dishwasher,
• 1 electric oven,
• 1 refrigerator,
• 1 microwave,
• 1 electric kettle,
• 1 electric coffee maker.

Main bedroom

The bedroom is equipped with:

• a double bed 140×190,
• 2 dressing rooms.

The bedroom also has direct access to the wooden terrace.

Secondary bedroom

The bedroom is equipped with:

• a double sofa-bed 160×160,
• an extra single sofa-bed 80×190,
• a storage wardrobe with holding space.

The bathroom

The bathroom is equipped with:

• a 90×120 shower,
• a sink.
